Ezra established the legitimacy of the returning exiles. They settled in ancestral lands. They then knew they needed to get back to the basics. They met the in the fall of the year, the most sacred month on the Jewish calendar, containing the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement and the Feast of the Tabernacles.

Discover Your Adversary

Peter is really taking time to prepare those sheep within the flocks that he is shepherding. At the end of chapter one, Peter pointed to the scriptures and the testimony of the apostles as a trustworthy source of truth.
