HELP GROW SOMETHING WONDERFUL –  Do you enjoy gardening, love serving others, or simply want to be part of something meaningful? If so, you can make a big difference! Through our partnership with Feed Iowa First, we offer 35 garden plots where families can grow their own food—and so much more than vegetables grows here. This garden is about connection, community, and care. This mission thrives because of volunteers, willing to get their hands a little dirty or cheer on those who do!  Volunteers help with assigning plots, welcoming and assisting families at the start of the season, answering questions, troubleshooting along the way, and—most importantly—building relationships between our church and the families we serve. Contact Bruce Boldt, or the church office.

CEDAR KIDS CLUB HOUSE – Meets TODAY –  Kindergarten through 5th grade children are invited to join the fun after the second service, 12pm-2pm.  This includes lunch, large group and small group. (This group meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.)  Register Online.

SUNDAY CLASSES –
Spring Classes at 9:45am for all ages include:

  • YOU BELONG (Membership class), Resource Center/Library, Explore Cedar Hills – what we believe and why and decide if you’d like to become a member.
  • FAITH QUEST (8th Graders), *church office*. Understanding the foundations of our faith.
  • The Dudes: Be With Jesus, Become Like Jesus (Men’s Class), Loft Classroom (door to stairs is next to side Nursery door).  Be with Jesus become like Jesus.  We are constantly being formed by the world around us. This class will help men be formed as disciples of Jesus by exploring spiritual practices.
  • The Cost of Control (Women’s Class), Orange Room. We often claim to have everything under control—whether it’s our hectic family schedules, deadlines at work, or unexpected problems that throw us off track—but do we, really? In this class, we’ll discuss daily challenges we face as women and how we can gain comfort, security, and peace by leaning on God versus our own efforts.
  • The Book of Romans (with Alan Crandall and Tim King), Red Room.
  • The Gospel of Luke (with Joanne Lodge), Teal Room. With a divine Father and a human mother-Jesus entered the world as God in the flesh. Amazing! A Greek doctor, Luke was a man of science, and a man of details. Using those gifts, Luke paints a picture of Jesus. Luke shows us Jesus, His humanity as the Son of Man and His deity as the Son of God. My life will be enriched as I see Jesus through Luke’s eyes. Bring your Bible, everyone is welcome.

Messages of inspiration and encouragement from our leaders and from around the web.

The War Against WeedsHealthy things grow. That’s a basic truth and, usually, good news. But sometimes the healthiest thing in the garden appears to be the weeds. That’s not good. It means war. The enemy of our souls, the great deceiver, wants to grow weeds in us and he wants us to settle for weedsREAD MORE

Abide In JesusAccording to John 15, the key to bearing fruit is to abide in the vineJesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5)READ MORE

Before the Snow Returns – (the blog mentioned by Pastor Kent last Sunday)  We Northwoods folk are basking in the sweetness of a few Spring days. False Spring before Second Winter, the cynical among us call it. But still, to stroll the block without coats, to crack the window for the midnight owls’ song, to watch the squirrels chase each other through the woods… READ MORE

The Gospel Is Not OptionalThere is some debate about which season is more important: Christmas or Easter? Of course, we are the kind of people who believe that both are vital and neither is optional. But if you had to rank them, what would you say? ...READ MORE

Deeper Waters – It is said that water covers about 71% of the Earth’s surface, and only 3% of it is fresh, with much of that locked in ice. Isn’t that interesting? There is no doubt that water is vital and essential for our overall well-being. Doctors often remind us that drinking enough water keeps us hydrated…   READ MORE
