Rooted Retreat

Rooted Together retreat happening February 27–March 1, 2026! This will be a peaceful and meaningful weekend away in a cabin setting, focused on growing deeper in our faith and in community with one another.

Over the weekend, we’ll spend time in worship, Scripture, conversation, rest, and laughter as we explore what it means to be rooted in Christ and rooted together. There will be space to slow down, connect, and be refreshed in this unique rustic cabin setting and community space.

  • Date: Friday, February 27 – Sunday, March 1, 2026
  • Location: Camp Liberty-New Liberty, IA (Near Davenport)
  • Cost: $100 per person
  • Payment: Check, cash or Venmo is accepted and may be directed to Beth Brown.

Rise to the Occasion Sourdough Party

January 25 – Rise to the Occasion Sourdough Party

All ladies are invited to Lindsey Ungs’ house on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 6pm for a sourdough party. “Rise to the Occasion”.  Please kindly RSVP on our Facebook event so we have a starter for everyone.

Dive into the world of sourdough with our Beginners’ Sourdough Bread Class – it’s all about the good vibes and great bread!
We will be gathering at Lindsey Ungs’ home where Lindsey & Lauren will spill their secrets, share their laughs and create sourdough magic!
No experience needed – we’ll show you how to create that awesome tangy goodness from scratch. Get your hands messy, learn the tricks of the trade, and discover the joy of baking your own delicious sourdough bread.
Come hungry for fun, leave with the skills to impress your taste buds and your friends.
Everyone will leave with their very own Sourdough Starter so please RSVP to claim yours!  Let’s get baking!

Lifeway Women’s Conference

A group of women from Cedar Hills are attending the Lifeway Women’s Conference LIVE at the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, April 28-29! The conference runs both days 8am-2:30pm.

$158 total, plus an optional $17 for lunch.  (For hotel accommodations with our group, it is an additional $129/night–see details below.)

REGISTER

If you want to sign up for both days, please let us know by Sunday February 12th and we will purchase your tickets through our church and you will pay the church. (Lunch is a gourmet turkey & cheese sandwich, chips, fruit, dessert & bottled water)

If you plan to attend only one day, you will need to purchase your ticket on your own. The Friday conference is $79 and the Saturday conference is $99. The Friday conference is advertised as a Leadership Training but that applies to all women in their faith.

There will be 4-5 of us driving and will coordinate carpooling. You are also welcome to drive yourself at your convenience. We 9 rooms reserved at the Drury Inn- West Des Moines for Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. They have 2 queen beds for $129/night. Please let Carmen Gronewold know by Sunday March 12th if you need a room. She will be taking care of all hotel reservations. Priority will go to ones who are staying multiple nights.

Zamboni

****Update: This group meets Thursdays at noon at Newbo City Market.****

Zamboni is a group for women to discuss work and faith over a relaxed lunch hour.  We meet at the Newbo City Market, but this location may change down the road.  The goal is to stay near the downtown area as a central location for everyone.

    Women in the Word – New Study begins Oct. 1

    It’s All Under Control

    A new Women in the Word Bible Study, begins October 1, meeting on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays each month from 6:30-8 PM in the teal classroom (314A/B).

    Embark on a 6-week journey with the theme “It’s All Under Control.” Let go of the things you can’t control, find the strength to hang on tighter to those you can, and finally learn how to tell the difference. Use scriptural truths to guide you in living a life of surrender to God.

    Workbooks will be provided. Childcare is not provided for this study.

    Women’s Lenten Breakfast – March 14

    The annual women’s Lenten breakfast is Saturday, March 14.  This is for ladies of all ages.  Bring your mom, sisters, aunts, friends, daughters!

    Doors open at 8:30 AM, breakfast served at 9 AM, and program to follow. RSVP required. Please sign up at the special Women’s Lenten Breakfast table in the Gathering Space between services March 1, March 8, or send an email to: women@cedarhillscr.org.
